On the 2nd, The Israeli Military has continued the bombing of Islamic Fundamentalist Society Hamas controlled region of Gaza, AFP News reports. The Palestinian death toll has now reached at least 430.

The aerial bombings commenced on December 27th and continued for one week. With Israel posturing for a invasion and ignoring the ceasefire on one hand and Hamas continuing rocket attacks on the other, the outlook for improvement looks bleak.

According to Reuters News Agency, Israel attacked the home of Hamas leader Nizar Rayyan on the 1st. He along with his wife and 7 children were killed.

The same day, while on visit in Paris, Israeli Foreign Minister Livini stated: "There is no humanitarian crisis in occurring in Gaza." She once again refused a French suggested "48 Hour Armistice" in order to deliver humanitarian aid.

On the 2nd, Israel who is gathering troops for a ground attack, has allowed the departure of several hundred foreigners living in Gaza, predominantly those who are Palestinian spouses and Palestinian children.
